Transiciones laborales desde el empleo temporayl y temporalidad regional
This paper analyzes the role of individual, family and employment characteristics of temporary employees in
the private sector to explain their permanence on a temporary contract with the same employer or their
transition to temporary employment in another company, permanent employment, unemployment or
inactivity. We estimate multinomial logit models for men and women separately using microdata from the
EPA since the 1st quarter of 2005 to the 3rd quarter of 2008. We have also considered whether individuals live
in regions in which the roots of temporality are deep or not. In order to find these groups of regions, we have
used probit models that explain the probability of having a temporary contract, so that the regional
importance of temporality does not arise in the observable characteristics of workers, jobs or the production
structure
